Nigel John Farmer:

Welcome to Spiritual Snacks and Cosmic Chats. Your go to podcast for bite sized wisdom and cosmic insights.

I'm Nigel from MeditatingAstronaut.com and today I'm excited to share some quick and simple tips for meditation on the go. Life can feel overwhelming with one thing after another grabbing for our attention, but here's the thing.

Meditation doesn't have to be a two hour practice in total silence. With just a few simple steps, you you can bring mindfulness into your day no matter how busy you are or where you find yourself.

Here are my top tips for meditating on the go. First, if you find yourself feeling drowsy or even falling asleep while meditating, try sitting upright with your spine straight.

This not only helps you stay awake, but also lets your breathing flow more freely and keeps your energy balanced. If you're in a busy or distracting environment, try anchoring your focus on an everyday object around you.

It could be a door handle, a sticky note, a plant, or even the toggle on a tray table. If you're on a flight, let your attention settle on that one thing and allow it to ground you in the present moment.

Next, consider practicing micro meditations. These are short meditations that take just one to three minutes. Pause whenever you can. Take a deep inhale, then exhale slowly.

Let your mind settle and feel yourself become more grounded. Micro meditations are perfect for those small moments before a meeting, when waiting in line or even while walking.

Another technique I love is box breathing. This is a simple and powerful way to reset your mind. Here is how it Inhale for four seconds.

Hold your breath for four seconds, exhale slowly for four seconds, then pause for four seconds before repeating the pattern in just a few minutes. This exercise will leave you feeling calmer, more focused and ready to take on whatever is in front of you.

My personal favourite technique is the three fingers technique. It's quick, easy and so subtle that no one will notice you doing it.

Gently press your thumb, index and middle fingers of your non dominant hand together. Using your non dominant hand makes it subtle and allows you to keep your dominant hand free if needed.

As you press your fingers together silently, affirm phrases like I am calm, creative and focused. This technique is perfect for grounding yourself during busy or high pressure moments.

Finally, I encourage you to turn everyday moments into meditation opportunities. You don't need a perfect setting to practice these techniques.

Whether you are commuting, walking or waiting in line, you can create a space for mindfulness. Meditation is not about where you are, it's about what you choose to bring into the moment. So there you have it. Sit upright to stay alert.

Use an anchor object to focus your attention. Try micro meditations or practice box breathing to reset your mind.

Use the three Fingers technique to stay calm and subtle when needed and make everyday moments a chance for mindfulness. I hope these tips help you bring more calm, clarity and self connection into your daily life. Remember, mindfulness is always just a breath away.

Until next time, stay mindful, stay grounded and keep exploring the cosmos within.
